Wildlings Creative Learning hub (home ed)

Fridays starting 3rd october | £72 per block

3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st Oct, 7th Nov (6 week block) - BLOCK 1

14th, 21st Nov, 28th Nov, 5th, 12th, 19th Dec (6 week block) - BLOCK 2

These six week blocks will run year round exploring what is going on in nature, drawing from history, geography, science and art history. These sessions are an amazingly child-led, hands on way to learn in a way that works for your child. Sessions are low pressure with the option to get involved as much or as little as your child wants. There will also be lots of other creative resources for your child to use.

​

Sessions are run by Heather Cassidy, experienced Parents Learning Adviser, Art Facilitator and Tutor. Each young person will be given a sketch book to record their findings, learnings and creative work. This will serve as a resource that they can refer to in the future. Parents are welcome to stay with their child, use the nearby sitting room or go and have a well deserved cuppa!

Wild & Crafted Embroidery Club

£48/4 week block

10:30 - 11:45am | First Floor area, Boom Studios, Bangor

​Block 1 starts Mon 6th October for 4 consecutive weeks,

Block 2 starts 10th Nov for 4 consecutive weeks

Suitable for adults and young people age 12+ when attending with an adult

​

Come and join embroidery artist, Heather Cassidy to learn how to create your own unique and beautiful embroidery pieces from scratch. Forget the expense of kits! Use your own imagination and a few simple tools and you will be amazed at what you will make. These sessions will run throughout the year working on different projects and can be booked in four week blocks.

​

You will learn:

Designing and creating your own patterns, tracing patterns onto fabric, painting & dyeing fabrics, printmaking with fabrics and lots & lots of fun stitches! Heather will teach embroidery technique to make your work pop,finishing off your work, upcycling & upstyling your clothes, slow stitching and fabric collage, The possibilities are endless!, We'll also have a bit of craic, some buns, tea and coffee. Come and join in - it's absolutely beginner friendly!

Art & Craft from the Celtic Wheel of the Year

1st Wednesday evenings of the month 7pm - 9pm £15 per session

Suitable for adults and young people age 12+ attending with an adult.

Join Heather for a series of nature based, mindful and fascinating workshops based around the Ancient Celtic Wheel of the Year. We will be exploring the traditional crafts of the time and applying our own personal ideas to create finished pieces that we can use to decorate our homes or gift to loved ones.

​

These workshops will be informal and friendly and you won't need any artistic talent or skill (although Heather believes we all possess these!). As well as learning about our fascinating heritage, we will explore both modern and traditional methods such as printmaking, weaving, embroidery and botanical art.
